Every lithium-ion battery degrades with use. Most phones are designed to hold around 80% of their original capacity after roughly 500 full charge cycles — about two years of typical use. After that, you’ll notice the difference.
Signs it’s time for a replacement
A battery replacement is usually worth it when you notice any of these: your phone drops below 20% faster than it used to, it shuts down unexpectedly in the cold or under load, or the battery health reading in your settings drops below 80%.
How a replacement works
We swap in a new high-capacity battery, calibrate the health reporting and pressure-test it under load before you leave. The job takes 30 to 45 minutes and most phones are ready the same day.
Should you replace or upgrade?
If your phone is otherwise in good condition, a battery replacement is far cheaper than a new device — often $119 at LetzFix. It buys you years of extra life and keeps a perfectly good device out of the e-waste pile.
